The landscape design for Mount Royal Terrace creates a series of distinct outdoor environments that complement the residence while responding to the site’s mature landscape and changing topography. At the front of the home, an intimate courtyard preserves mature trees and combines shade-tolerant plantings with a custom decorative low screen wall, while a sculptural stone water feature and rain chain near the entry introduce the subtle sound of water and a sense of calm upon arrival. In the rear, terraced planters with native and adapted plantings step alongside the stairway connecting the upper and lower outdoor spaces, transforming a significant grade change into an integrated landscape feature. The terraces transition toward the pool, creating a layered outdoor environment that balances architecture, planting, and the natural characteristics of the site.
