Light Farms in Celina, Texas is a 1,000+ acre planned community with an open space network and amenities program. Planned in several phases, the initial phase of the amenities program includes a large community center with swimming facilities, tennis courts, meeting areas, sales center, and a fitness center located at the heart of the open space. Lakes and the trail system link to a regional trail network. Future plans include a heritage museum, community gardens, farmer’s market, and festival grounds. The buildings housing these facilities are refurbished 19th century vintage barns from family farms. Dismantled, cleaned, and moved from the eastern United States, these structures are the foundation for the Agrarian theme of the amenities and architecture, celebrating family life and the history of this site.
