Working with the White Rock Lake Partners community group, MESA developed a new gateway feature for the existing West Lawther entrance into White Rock Lake Park. The new gateway includes multi-tiered retaining walls for beautification of the re-purposed railway viaduct, beautification of the existing railway trestle to develop an expanded gateway feature (including signage and pause-points associated with the Rails-to-Trails network), a planting plan comprised exclusively of native and adaptive species, naturalizing the existing drainage ditch, wetlands, and detention areas to complement the greater White Rock Lake, and redevelopment of the intersection with a round-a-bout to increase traffic safety and site access. MESA also developed Donor graphics and pamphlets for assist the client in fundraising activities.
