The Longhorn Village Independent Living expansion will create a warm and welcoming outdoor experience that will marry modern architecture with the natural environment of the Texas Hill Country. Amenities proposed for the expansion include a large, main courtyard extending off the new clubhouse that will connect two new residential buildings. The main courtyard will be flanked on each side by a smaller, more intimate outdoor area. On one side will be a multi-use area for any number of outdoor games and activities. There, residents will have access to a large outdoor kitchen/barbecue area, which can be used to host intimate gatherings and guest chefs offering cooking courses. On the opposite side will be an outdoor living room to accommodate overflow from the clubhouse’s art room. It will feature intimate alcoves with comfortable, casual seating where friends can visit over a cocktail. During the fall and winter months, residents can pull up a chair to the large outdoor fireplace. Once complete, the ADA-accessible courtyard will accommodate almost any activity for large or small groups.
