07 Mar David Newman Promoted to Principal
Since joining MESA in 2014, Mr. Newman has consistently demonstrated the importance of cultivating and fostering client relationships for the firm. This has not only strengthened our partnerships but also led to successful projects based on collaborative design processes.
Throughout his tenure, David has directed multifaceted design projects ranging from large-scale community developments to park and urban design initiatives. He has been a consistent voice and played an instrumental role in the design and implementation of several key projects related to the City of Ennis Downtown Master Plan, including the award-winning Downtown Streetscape Improvements.
His recent focus has been a 1,200-acre residential community in Ellis County, Texas where he led a team of designers through the initial theming and branding process to a full construction document set. In addition to his design aptitude, David takes a hands-on approach while overseeing the construction of his projects, ensuring the highest standards of detail, design, and quality of construction methods and materials.
David’s leadership and guidance have contributed significantly to the success of our team. He is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of landscape architects, fostering growth, and helping others achieve their goals. His ability to tackle challenges with optimism and a thoughtful approach inspires everyone around him.
David earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University in 2008. He is a licensed Landscape Architect in the State of Texas and is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and Texas Downtown (TXD).
A native of Louisiana, David is a connoisseur of Cajun food. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.
