Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve

Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve is an existing 801-acre park in Plano that has recently undergone a lengthy design process to improve its ability to draw a regional audience with the most diverse park opportunities and activity options. The planning and design of the preliminary master plan  include  improvements that encompass nature and adventure playscapes that encourage skill-building for children with diverse abilities. The incorporation of evidence-based design elements provide children with autism, social processing disorder (SPD), and other special needs an outdoor environment that supports and encourages skill-building while remaining engaging for any child. Site amenities will include large event lawns, pavilions, restroom facility, trails, fishing pier, recreational kayaking, and zip line course.

As part of the master planning process, MESA collaborated with the City of Plano and an international concert promoter to generate a festival layout that showcases the natural features and unique possibilities of this outdoor venue. The concept layout incorporates all the festival attractions requested by the concert promoter; while incorporating unique landscape views and protection of the park’s natural features.
