MESA seeks a full-time land planner/landscape designer with 2+ years of experience in professional design, entitlements, and project management. Experience with mixed-use, single-family, multi-family, and commercial projects is preferred.

The successful candidate will:

 

    • Have excellent design skills
    • Have outstanding design graphic skills (hand drawing as well as computer graphics)
    • Be knowledgeable of and have experience with city ordinances including zoning and subdivision ordinances
    • Have experience in obtaining GIS data and compiling base maps and information with readily available GIS data and other informational sources (FEMA, USGS, etc.)
    • Understand the components of land use and zoning including City comprehensive plans, Planned Development districts and the aspects of zoning and land use entitlements
    • Be capable of working with design teams and consultants through all design stages from concept
      through construction
    • Be able to lead teams to complete projects while meeting deadlines and budget requirements
    • Be able to prepare non-residential site plans and residential neighborhood lotting plans
    • Be proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite and GIS.
    • Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or similar field of study from an accredited university.

 

Additionally, the successful candidate will be self-motivated, anticipate the needs of clients and projects, communicate effectively orally and in writing, work independently and on a team, have a broad portfolio of construction documents demonstrating their abilities, and be available for immediate work in Dallas, Texas.

 

MESA is a practice firm and currently the lead designer on master planned communities, parks, nature preserves, environmental education centers, mixed-use, urban living/multi-family housing, corporate campuses and high-end residences.

MESA seeks CAD drafters, preferably with landscape design experience, to produce construction drawings and other technical graphic documents. Candidates should have 2+ years of experience in a professional design environment and have experience with AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Photoshop. Experience with Revit and Adobe applications is a plus.

Applicants are expected to manage deadlines with efficient production of deliverables. A brief practicum assessing technical skill and proficiency with software applications will be part of the interview process. The practicum will include but not limited to capability with:

    • Key board shortcuts
    • Using/creating custom LISP commands
    • Proficiency with utilizing line type, weight, and hierarchy.
    • Applying and setting up annotative scales and page layouts
    • Attaching and referencing other files, such as .dwg, .xlsx, .skp, .pdf, .jpg, etc.

 

The successful candidate will:

 

    • Have excellent technical drafting skills, especially regarding document management, composition,
      and in-depth knowledge of AutoCAD.
    • Be knowledgeable of and have experience with construction methodologies,
      technical (construction) documents.
    • Be capable of working with design teams and consultants through all design stages from concept
      through construction.
    • Be able to prepare CD sets including hardscape, planting, landscape lighting, water features,
      construction details, and preparation of specification and bidding packages with supervision by senior designers and project managers.
    • Proficient with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
    • Have an accredited certification, Associates degree in Drafting, or bachelor’s degree in Landscape
      Architecture or Architecture from an accredited university.

    • Be able to coordinate with team members to complete projects while meeting deadlines and

    • Be proficient with 3D modeling using a variety of SketchUp plugins and extensions.
    • Be proficient with other computer applications including Lumion, Substance Designer, and
